Gearing up for Halloween

So here is one of two posts for halloween. This year I thought it would be fun to pick a few gourds from a little patch that is down the road from our house and paint them. The kids, especially Brandon had fun with them. Soon there will be costume and pumpkin carving pictures to add to these few. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

I know this one was already posted but it had to go with the Halloween grouping. We now have two pumpkins that are waiting to be carved that are sitting in the yard with the scarecrows!

One afternoon we went and picked a few wild cattails on the outskirts of town and I thought they would look nice as part of an Autumn bouquet. Paired with a few ddried "weeds" from the yard and some old silk flowers our kitchen table looks a little more festive.

This is our little gourd family after we were all done. Brandon painted the most and you can make out a face on a few of his masterpieces!

Our little artists!

Tyler really had fun but it was close to bedtime and she was tired , so she only painted one but she admires it all the time.

Brandon painted 5 and kept wanting to paint more and more. He is a great artist and loves our little projects we do for "learning time".

So content on making her little "punkin", she calls it.

More Pictures

SO I found our other memory card the other day and there were a lot of pictures we had forgot about on it. Some of them are from our Colorado trip and others are just from this summer. We hope you enjoy catching up on our summer activities.....

And the train.

July Vacation in Colorado!!!!!

This Fourth of July we got a chance to take a short family vacation to Colorado where Mike's sister and brother-in-law live. Here are a few pictures from the things we did while we were there. The day we got there we went to the amusement park, Elitch Gardens. They had a nice kid are so everyone got to do something. It was a little hot that day so the water rides were also a lot of fun.

For the Fouth we went to Georgetown. The most picturesque town you will ever find. It is an old Victorian era town with beautiful little restored homes and a perfest little mainstreet. The kids had a blast getting tons of candy. And after the parade we had a picnic in the park and then got ice cream from the little ice cream parlor. After wards we went for a drive in the mountains and the kids threw rocks into the lake. We went for a little walk and then we all tried to get Roni and Coleman's car started. Thankfully a nice man helped us get it jumped and we headed back to the house. After a new battery it started up no problem!!! Then that night we went to the fireworks. The kids were more interested in their glowsticks than anything but in the end we all had a great Fouth of July......

Go Rockies! Roni and Coleman were nice enough to buy everyone tickets to a Rockies game that weekend. We had a lot of fun and Brandon was excited because he got a baseball with the team logo on it.
